What Are the Side Effects of Requip for Advanced Parkinson's? (Cont.)

Rare Requip Side Effects for Advanced Parkinson's

There are other possible Requip side effects that can occur. Although rare, these side effects occur in less than 1 percent of patients with advanced Parkinson's disease. However, it is difficult to tell whether the side effect is caused by the medication or something else.

Some of these possible side effects include, but are not limited to:

  • Heart attack
  • Fainting, lightheadedness, or dizziness when going from a sitting or lying down position to standing up
  • Viral infections
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Leg swelling
  • Indigestion (dyspepsia)
  • Depression
  • Spinning sensation (vertigo)
  • Hot flashes
  • Sore throat (pharyngitis).

What Are the Side Effects of Requip for Advanced Parkinson's? -- Final Thoughts

It is possible that you may experience some or none of these Requip side effects. Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have side effects from a medicine that you have never tried. Therefore, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any side effects. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you develop something that "just does not seem right." While it may not be a side effect, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
