Side Effects of Requip for Early Parkinson's Disease
These rare side effects occurred in less than 1 percent of patients taking Requip for early Parkinson's disease. With these side effects, it is difficult to tell whether they occurred because of the medication or were caused by another factor.
Some of these rare Requip side effects include, but are not limited to:
- Upper respiratory infection
- Back pain
- Decreased heart rate
- Basal cell carcinoma, which is a type of skin cancer
- Blood in the urine (hematuria)
- Abnormal dreams.
It is possible that a person with early Parkinson's disease may experience some or none of these Requip side effects. Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have side effects from a medicine that you have never tried. Therefore, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any side effects. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you develop something that "just does not seem right." While it may not be a side effect, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
