Serious Mirapex Side Effects

Some side effects with Mirapex are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. Although most of these serious side effects are rare, a few may be common. Serious side effects of Mirapex include but are not limited to:
 
  • Hallucinations
  • Falling asleep during the day, sometimes without warning
  • Feelings of internal restless or jitteriness
  • Strong, uncontrollable muscle contractions
  • Any abnormal muscle movements
  • Severe dizziness or fainting
  • Muscle pain
  • Any vision changes
  • Difficult or painful breathing
  • Problems with impulse control, such as gambling, hypersexuality, or binge eating (see Mirapex and Gambling)
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, including:
 
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Swelling of the mouth or throat
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing.
 

Less Common Mirapex Side Effects

Rare Mirapex side effects occurred in 10 percent or less of people taking the drug. Because some of these side effects are so uncommon, it can be difficult to tell whether they are caused by Mirapex or something else.
